Center Parcs is a destination that ignites the family’s imagination like few others.

The short-break holiday firm currently runs six holiday villages throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, with each village spanning around 400 acres of lush woodland.

The story began with the launch of the first village in 1987 at Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, and its most recent addition opened in 2019 in Ireland.

Dutch entrepreneur Piet Derksen started it all by acquiring woodland in Holland, offering staff and customers of his sporting goods chain a place to unwind in small tents.

As the concept quickly gained popularity, bungalows were introduced, replacing the tents.

The debut Center Parcs in Nottingham, UK, was an instant sensation, and the brand hasn’t looked back since.
